Get Ready to Chalk Up Some Fun at The Island’s 8th Annual Chalkfest!

Dust off your pastels and unleash your inner artist, because The Island in Pigeon Forge is hosting its 8th Annual Chalkfest on Sunday, October 6, 2024! This FREE event is a fantastic opportunity for artists of all skill levels to showcase their creativity and transform the Island’s walkways into a vibrant outdoor art gallery.

2024 Theme: Visions of Space

Prepare to be transported to a world beyond our own as this year’s theme, Visions of Space, invites artists to explore the vastness and wonder of the cosmos. From swirling galaxies and twinkling constellations to astronauts and spaceships, your imagination is the limit!

Registration and Details

Chalkfest will take place from 8 am to 6 pm, with check-in starting at 8 am. Artists can register for free and will be provided with chalk, but are welcome to bring their own supplies as well. Teams of two are encouraged, but larger groups can also participate.

Prizes and Awards

Get ready for some friendly competition as your artwork will be judged by professional chalk artists based on creativity, composition, adherence to the theme, and use of the medium. Awards will be presented at 6 pm on the Ole Smoky Moonshine stage, with categories for Best in Show, People’s Choice, and various age groups.

Tips for a Successful Chalkfest

• Bring cardboard or foam squares to kneel on and a tarp to protect your artwork from the elements.

• Use masking tape or blue painter’s tape for clean lines and edges.

• Pack sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water to stay comfortable throughout the day.

• Remember your camera to capture all the incredible artwork!
