The Great Smoky Mountains

The Island is located at the foothills of The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which attracts more than 12 million visitors per year. As America's most visited national park, the mountains and surrounding land provide a natural canvas to build upon the fun and sights to take in during your family vacation. You can spend days exploring the park, hiking trails, and experiencing rivers and streams. There are many different ways to escape and connect with nature in the mountains, from vigorous activities like hiking, tubing, fly fishing, and horseback riding to more leisurely activities like picnicking or touring on one of the park's scenic drives, including Cade's Cove and the Foothills Parkway.

Greenway Trails

The beautiful Riverwalk Greenway is located directly adjacent to The Island in Pigeon Forge and follows the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River. With over 4 miles of trails, The Riverwalk Greenway takes cyclists and walkers 1 mile around the old City Park loop behind the Pigeon Forge Community Center, travels along the river for 1 mile through the Island in Pigeon Forge, and then travels behind the LeConte Convention Center and along Butler St for 1.5 miles where it connects to the ½ mile trail at Patriot Park.If you're visiting us, the Riverwalk Greenway is the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll, get in your exercise for the week, or bike with family or friends. Because of its easy access to The Island, it is also a great means of getting to and from our property if you are staying elsewhere in town.
