Cheerio! I’m Megalosaurus Monty

Hello there! I’m Monty, the Megalosaurus. My name means "Great Lizard," and I am dinosaur royalty! I was found in England, and I am very famous because I was one of the very first dinosaurs ever discovered by humans! I lived during the Jurassic Period, a long time before the T-rex arrived. You can find me standing guard right here outside Timberwood Grill. If you see me sniffing the air, it’s because something inside smells delicious!
FUN FACTS
I Have Great Taste: I am a bipedal carnivore (I walk on two legs and eat meat). Scientists think I hunted for food, but I also didn't mind scavenging for a free meal. Speaking of meals, I can smell the steak and chicken cooking inside Timberwood Grill... I wonder if they have a table for a dinosaur?
Look at My Eyes: If you look closely at my face, you will see small bony knobs above my eyes. They make me look very serious, don't they?
My Size: I grew to be about 30 feet long and 10 feet tall!
What Did I Eat?
I am a meat-eater! In the wild, I would hunt for other dinosaurs. But since I am on vacation here at The Island, I am mostly dreaming about the burgers inside the restaurant behind me.
Did You Know?
I am a history maker! In 1824, I became the first dinosaur ever named. Before people found my fossils in England, they didn't even know dinosaurs existed! They thought my big bones belonged to giants from fairy tales. I’m the one who started it all!
